Re: Warsaw Architecture and Poland
I got to say, Warsaw Spire, after initial hesitation and truthful disgust at her appearance in the renders initially provided, looks to have come out okay and not the hot dog monstrosity we were subjected to by what the developers' first presented in the aforementioned architectural illustrations, but the poignant point is still this, and quite frankly it's not up for debate for irrefutable reasons; she will never touch the magnificence of the two best supertalls Polska has produced to date. Crowning architectural achievements stand the test of time and thousands' of years beyond, new civilizations look upon them as not mere constructs of humanity and her lust to look towards the sky, but works of deities and visionaries ahead of their times: Nothing for another 1000 years or so will touch the brilliance of the true Polish skyscrapers below, capitalism be damned.

Been waiting for the this project to get the green light for a while now, super stoked that it has been rubber-stamped and construction will commence in Q1 of the new year with a 2018 finalization projection.
Love the location, the dark facade and the classy box design that doesn't scream: yo, I'm an Arabic camel riding sheik with unlimited funds and zero architectural understanding or taste – just compliments Warszawa’s little twin towers so well
Girl will be 170 meters to the roof.

Be patient and tolerant with me here, my computer crashed, I lost a bunch of pictures which I’ve been saving as a year by year personal addiction and documentation of progress for a long time now, and as religious as I am about this street, I don’t have the time to prepare a university type report on her behalf as I once envisioned.
Such is life, but selfishly, I need to visually archive something somewhere so here it goes.
Before we left Polska, when I was just a little kid, one of the fondest memories I still have and cherish to this day was visiting my grandparent’s apartment which resides on a street called Mokotowska, right in the middle of downtown Warszawa.

Have a romantic walk

My parents had their wedding at that church where the route starts

to here:

Our whole immediate family still has a residence on Mokotowska, my cousin and his family currently live there, I personally spent the summer of 2012 during Euro living there. There is talk of all parties that have claim to it wanting to cash out, it breaks my heart to hear it, I want to illustrate to them how selling right now with the majestic renovations that have been ongoing and are slated to continue, would be a tragic event. So I’m going to utilize this forum as my visual vehicle to drive my point across:

Mokotowska 73 Under renovation:

There's so much more I was equipped with, old pre war pictures I collected, more renos I had documented, discussions rendered and lost, but this is all I can provide not subscribing to cloud computing in time

So awesome what they're doing to restore these historic buildings to beautiful condition. Love it way more than the glass obelisks... Brawo Warszawa.

Re: Warsaw Architecture and Poland
New 310 metre skyscraper officially approved smack dab in the middle of downtown Warszawa.
Location:

Finalization supposedly 2018
Unfortunately the spire on this building is supposed to be like 80 metres so the roof will only reach about 230
Slovak HB Reavis developer
Supposedly Foster + Partners with the architectural design forthcoming - same company that designed these:
Commerzbank Tower, Frankfurt:

Torre Caja Madrid Tower, Madrid:

Let's hope for an iconic design from their studio

Foster + Partners design in New York, 425 park avenue - I could only pray their studio could come up with something as beautiful as this for my WaWa

The tower in NYC is utter horseshit but I approve something like in Frankfurt or Madrid.
We have the Libeskind iconic tower Zlotta 44 and now Norman Foster, Warsaw skyline is looking good
With the spire, the tower will be the tallest in EU.

Well, since they got your highly esteemed approval and a hefty dose of your constructive criticism on their NYC design, the light has surely turned green for their Warszawa project to commence.polskaforever wrote:The tower in NYC is utter horseshit but I approve something like in Frankfurt or Madrid.

Good things continue to happen in Warsaw:
Kamienica will be brought back to esthetic life and a hole will be filled with a nice glassy biurowiec

I've read and looked at this thing over and over and still not quite understand how it fits but I've been assured by minds sharper than mine that everything is copacetic
