If Boruc actually tries hard enough I think he can steal it from Gomez. To me Gomez is shit along with Alumnia. Imagine if Boruc, Fabianksi, and Kuszczak all started for the top EPL teams. I think that would definatively make Poland one of the top two goalkeeping countries in the world, the other being Spain. Would be a hell of a competion for the NT though which is good and bad. Keep the boys on their toes but someones always gonna be disappointed. A stark contrast to England who actually consider Foster their future hero

So, quite a busy transfer window at Celtic Park this January. :D

In

Robbie Keane (Spurs) Loan
Edson Braafheid (Bayern Munich) Loan
Morten Rasmussen (Brondby) £1.8m
Diomansy Kamara (Fulham) Loan
Jos Hooiveld (AIK Stockholm) £2m
Ki Sung Yong (FC Seoul) £2m

Out

Scott McDonald (Middlesbrough) £3.5m
Gary Caldwell (Wigan) £1m
Barry Robson (Middlesbrough) £1m
Stephen McManus (Middlesbrough) Loan
Danny Fox (Burnley) £2m
Chris Killen (Middlesbrough) Free
Willo Flood (Middlesbrough) Free

Have to say i'm pretty delighted with our dealings this month, 10 points behind the huns in the league (with a game in hand) but we look well prepared to mount a major challenge on them for the second part of the season.

Bring it on!!

Btw the new manager is expected to be Neil Lennon. His signing targets are Craig Bellamy, Martin Petrov (Man City), Sol Campbell (Arsenal), Jimmy Bullard (Hull), Joe Ledley (Cardiff), and there's also rumours that Stilian Petrov could be coming back to Celtic since he and Lennon are close friends from their time at the club.

Also supposedly Boruc is on his way to Sevilla as a replacement for Palop, and McGeady is joining Spurs for £9m.

I heard Aiden to Spartak for 9 million...

and the new kit is pretty decent, not a fan of the collar though.
As for Boruc he needs out, Zaluska should start now, Boruc will get no better and will only decline eventually. Celtic might as well get as much as they can for him NOW while he's still playing decently.

I really like the green white design. But I too hate collars.

We rejected a bid from Spartak for 10 million euros, apparently Celtic are asking for 12.5million.

And i agree that it's probably time for the Holy Goalie to find a new challenge, even though the Celtic fans would be gutted to see their hero leave i think it's time for something different in Artur's career. Zaluska has done well for the most part when he played last season, although had a few shaky moments as well, i'm guessing if Boruc did go that we'd bring in another goalie to at least give him a challenge for the gloves next season though.

Talk in Glasgow at the moment is that Boruc is on his way to Fiorentina this week for 4million euros.

Also Celtic are supposedly signing Efrain Juarez, a midfielder who played for Mexico at the World Cup, for 2.5million, Joe Ledley who was wanted by a number of clubs in the Premiership, and Jimmy Bullard before the end of the week.

We've already signed Cha-Du-Ri, who also played at the World Cup with South Korea and is a right-back, and Charlie Mulgrew, who will be a backup player for lthe left full-back position.

When could we have got 9 million? Don't believe everything you read in the media. Celtic have persistently said that despite all the speculation throughout the years that no club has ever made an official offer to sign Boruc until now. Still, 4million for a guy who is approaching 30 is a decent price anyway...

Good luck to Artur in Serie A, he'll always be a Celtic legend, and he's on record as saying that his years at Celtic were the best of his career, so i'm sure the feeling is reciprocated.

Farewell, Holy Goalie! :(

Unless Frey is leaving Fiorentina, I don't understand this transfer.

Why would they pay that much money for a backup goalie?

Celtic want David James as Boruc's replacement.
James set for Celtic talks

Goalkeeper to meet Bhoys boss Lennon

Goalkeeper David James is to hold talks with Celtic on Monday over a possible move to Parkhead.

The England international's future has remained uncertain since the end of last season when his contract with Portsmouth came to an end. Pompey were initially keen to keep the 39-year-old but later withdrew their offer of a new deal after he failed to respond before a set deadline.

A number of clubs have since been linked with a move for James, with Sunderland manager Steve Bruce confirming his interest earlier on Saturday. But James will now fly north on Monday to meet Bhoys boss Neil Lennon, who has been busy rebuilding his squad this summer.

Lennon will hope to persuade James that he should embark on a new challenge in Scotland.

"He's hopefully coming up on Monday to have talks and look at the place and we'll take it from there," Lennon told Sky Sport News.

People arent sure that Zaluska is a big enough "personality" to be the number 1 keeper at the club for a full season. You need to have the confidence and self-belief to cope with the type of pressure and demands that come with having that position at Celtic. Boruc had it in spades, but there are question marks about whether Zaluska is capable of stepping up.

He'll be playing in our CL qualifier against Braga on Wednesday though, so he's got an opportunity to prove himself in a high-pressure situation to the manager.

Unfortunately, he started today.

Not sure if any of the goals were his fault though.

He should have saved the 3rd goal.

David James has decided to sign for Bristol City for some reason, we're now being linked with Stipe Pletikosa of Spartak Moscow and the German goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand.

Also, Celtic completed the signing of Israeli international midfield Biram Kayal from Maccabi Haifa and Gary Hooper, who has scored 50 goals in the past two seasons for Scunthorpe in the past two seasons.
