Ghanem gets Legia chance

Polish side Legia Warszawa have signed Egyptian Under-20 international Ahmed Ghanem from Zamalek SC.

First-team chance
The 19-year-old midfielder arrives in Poland from his homeland on a four-year contract. Legia sporting director Jacek Bednarz welcomed the move, saying: "Ahmed is a very talented right-sided player, who is very quick to join the attack. I think he is capable of breaking into the first team right away." Ghanem represented Egypt at the recent FIFA World Youth Championship in the Netherlands.

Legia definetly need a stronger attack hopefully this new 19 year old can improve it. I don't know anything about this player.

Well, he's a right mid so he'll be Karwan's back-up for the time being.

Burkhardt w Legii?
Czwartek, 2005-07-28 21:14
Pomocnik Amiki Wronki Marcin Burkhardt najprawdopodobniej zostanie wypożyczony do Legii Warszawa.

This would be a good move for both Legia & Burkhardt. Seems like the kid has not moved forward in the past year or two... and Legia could use help in the mid for sure.

So Legia drew FC Zurich for UEFA Cup.... don't know much about this team, but I gather that it'll be a tough tie.

Dziś w Nyonie o godzinie 14:00 odbyło się losowanie II rundy eliminacji Pucharu UEFA. Legia Warszawa została, podobnie jak Groclin Grodzisk Wlkp., rozstawiona w grupie 2, regionu środkowo-wschodniego. Potencjalnymi rywalami legionistów mogły być - SV Pasching (Austria), FC Zurich (Szwajcaria), FK Dukla Bańska Bystrzyca (Słowacja), FC MTZ-RIPO Mińsk (Białoruś) i Bananc Erewan (Armenia). Ostatecznie w walce o kolejną fazę rozgrywek podopiecznym Jacka Zielińskiego przyjdzie się zmierzyć z FC Zurich.
Pierwsze spotkanie odbedzie sie 11 sierpnia w Warszawie.
Rewanż dwa tygodnie później (25 sierpnia) w Zurichu.

Leverkusen looked the same way untill we scored against them.... this one might be similar, their defence might be hard to break, but if we can put one past them, then they might break just like Leverkusen did.

Wlodarczyk will make sure Legia doesn't qualify

Seriously, Legia needs new strikers...

And why was Korzym loaned out?

so he can actuall get playing time. He will be fine in Odra this season. Its like Brozek with GKS he will score eventhough everyone knows to watch out for him.

Anyone get a chance to watch the Legia game?

The boys finally broke their season-long deadlock, with Marcin Klatt scoring 3 in 8 mins.

Nice!!! The legend is coming back!!! He's best as a player, but with him, Choto and Outtara, we have a pretty strong defence 8)

I'm very excited to see what changes Wdowczyk will bring in!

We've been horrible so far but we're only 5 games into the season so a lot can change. Odra Wodzislaw @ Estadio WP tomorrow is simply a must-win game!!

a lot of ex-Legia players ( or loaned ) such as Korzym, Kowalski and Dudek are all playing for Odra right now so it should be an exciting game

I noticed Odra doing well because of all the Ex-Legia players 8)

Outtara really is awesome, I've seen him twice, the guy is everywhere on defence. No matter where the ball his, the attacker will look up and see a giant defender in his face. Outtara, just the way he pressures the players looks VERY imposing.
