How did you choose your team?

Other than being from the city itself, how did the lot of you decide to choose the team you follow? Just curious

I just picked the team who won the most league titles in the past ten years, duh!

But seriously, my dad is from Wroclaw and supported the club so I continue the tradition.

Well I was born in Lodz and me and my friends started getting into the Polish league at the same time in primary school. Widzew was the Polish champion at the time and it was a natural choice really.

you don't choose your team your team chooses you. I wonder what the manchester united and real madrid douchebags have to say on the matter.

That's exactly how I feel!

My family were from Poland and I've followed the league pretty extensively the last 3 seasons. I'm really trying to trace some roots and see where we are from before following a team with full devotion.

My dad didn't support a particular team in Poland, though he liked one of Gornik or Ruch (can't remember :P) as well as GKS Katowice.

As for Wisla, I don't know, they were the club I always 'favored' and later liked from Poland. I didn't get much into football until after 2002 WC, (I grew up in Canada after all) and even then I followed Serie A and knew little about Polish football.

When I moved to Poland, I lived in Krakow during the school year with an uncle (as there were no international schools nearby my babcia's house in Katowice) and my uncle is a hardcore Wisla fan and took me to many games. From there on my like for Wisla turned into love.

Paramount: "No, and i'm not googling it cause it's some fake"

I was born in and lived part of my childhood in Stare Miasto w Poznaniu. Though I have moved away, the center of the world on both sides of my family is still Poznan.
