Hey guys, if i want i can go to this game (will have to rearrange the first weekend of my Europe trip though), im just wondering if it will it be worth it, or is this going to be a glorified friendly match between two teams who couldn't care less if they won? Also., where can i buy tickets in the Polish fan section?

Any advice would be great!

As of now, im leaving to Barcelona on Thursday, and ill arrive at 12:05PM local Barcelona time on Friday Sept 7. If i want to make this game, ill have to take another flight immediately to Milan, take a train to Milano Centrale train station then a second train to Bologna Centrale. Id arrive in Bologna just after 8:00PM, came starts at 8:45PM.

Do you guys think the nations league will be competitive or should i just spend my first weekend in Europe in Barcelon and Ibiza as originally planned?

I wouldnt go out of your way to see Poland NT play unless you were already there because seriously most likely they will play like they did in WC and is that going to be worth it to you?

Even if it is competitive, this is probably your better option

I would recommend catching a game at Narodowy instead.

My takeaways from the match:

1.) Lots of empty seats at the stadium, even for a football-crazed country like Italy. Couple that with yesterday's lackluster France-Germany match, and it just goes to show you that this new competition isn't being taken seriously.

2.) Drawing away against Italy? I'll take that result anytime.

3.) I thought Blaszykowski was going to retire from the national team after the World Cup?

4.) Brzeczek looked like a nervous wreck pacing the sideline during the match!

I get that this competition might be closer to being glorified friendlies...but still these are crucial games IMO. What other opportunities are there besides qualifiers and the actual tournaments themselves? Plus, for better or for worse we're in the top pool, so you might as well focus on having good outcomes and building your team against quality teams. This should motivate up and coming players which is exactly what we need. So yea, I think this tournament is something to be invested in because if you can play well here, then no shit you should be able to perform in qualifiers.

I like this format. It is based on ranking and you play vs teams similar ranking as you. Its going to be a constant battle. No room for mistakes.

Also if you win the group then you qualify to Euro 2020 so it is important.

This new format also gives a chance for weaker nations to qualify to the tournament as well.

The top 4 teams from the whole nations league tournament qualify for the euros. Do you really think the winner of the weakest division will qualify for euros that easy? Lol

Its going to be more interesting.

So the Nations League can be a route to qualification for the Euros?

Yes. The four group winners from each league - A, B, C and D, so 16 teams in all - will play off in March 2020 in a bid to secure one of the four remaining places. The format will be one-off play-off semi-finals, followed by a final, per league, with the winning team from each of leagues A, B, C and D taking the last four spots at the Euros.

If a country has already qualified by the conventional route, their place will go to the next highest-ranked team from their respective Nations League tier.
