Euro 2016

Post by Piast_PL » Thu Oct 22, 2015 11:30 am

Figured someone here should start a general thread now that Polska has officially gotten out of qualifying and into the group stages for France :D

Discuss all things related to Euro Cup 2016 here (i.e. travel plans, tickets, other team progressions in the tourney etc.).

Going. Getting a few people together from Belchatow and driving there. The biggest problem is the tickets. Hope I get lucky and get them from ueffa. Keen for a fight with some ruski scum. Going to be the best couple of days in my life if Poland plays well too.

I don't know much about France, never been, but I guess the place to start when looking for a villa or penthouse would be airbnb. That being said we don't even know yet what cities Polska will be playing in...

I'm going to start off by booking a one-way ticket to Iceland in Dec. as by then I'll know what days Polska will be playing and will have put in my info. for the second round draw of tickets.

This was not "epic" at all. It is the opposite of what I want to happen in France.

Out of the big boys from pot 1 I would like to draw either England or Portugal.Portugal are easily the worst team in pot 1 relying way too heavily on Ronaldo. Look at their qualifying group - it was utter crap and they only won all their games by a margin of 1 goal and lost to Albania. England went 10/10 but they also had a piss easy group. The media hype them up - saying could this be the tournament we finally win something, players get heaps of pressure and they crumble like in the WC. Pot 2 is very dangerous because all those countries could beat us on their day but I want Russia because of the rivalry and a fight on the streets would be good too but i doubt it will happen as there will be heaps of Police ( I think because of the IS threat and terrorism more so than football violence ). We should be beating anyone from the last pot. Wouldn't mind Hungary qualifying too. They deserve it.

Group of Death - France, Italy, Wales
Group of Life - Portugal, Swiitzerland, Albania

Looking forward to see who makes it out of the playoffs

Have you guys been seeing the players "Grupa Marzeń" on łączy nas piłka? I'm not sure if these guys are overly cocky or just plain stupid. Half of them want Spain from pot 1, and a good number want Italy from Pot 2

Well maybe because...
Finals format[edit]

To accommodate the expansion from a 16 team finals tournament to 24 teams, the format will be changed from that used in 2012 with the addition of two extra groups in the group stage, and an extra round in the knockout stages. The six groups (A to F) would still contain four teams each, with the top two from each group still going through to the knockout stage. In the new format however, the four best third-ranked sides would also progress, leaving 16 teams going into the new round of 16 knockout stage, ahead of the usual quarter-finals, semi-finals and final, and only 8 teams going out at the group stage.

So N. Ireland first, Germany 2nd and Ukraine 3rd.. looks like it'll be the same as always.

First game is a must win, second against the strongest team and then mecz o wszytko against our biggest rival for 2nd place
