Polska vs. Germany (September 6)

Should be a very good test for our boys. Anybody have the lineup yet?

I believe it's going to pretty much the same as the Mexico game, but a few changes with Damien Perquis in.

Well this is what I would put with the players that we have called up for the game on tuesday.

GK ---------------- Wojciech Szczęsny -----------------------

DF - Głowacki -Damien Perquis - Wasilewski -Wawrzyniak

MF - Błaszczykowski -- Mierzejewski -- Obraniak -- Peszko

FW ------------------ Lewandowski ---------------------------------

----------------------------- Brożek -----------------------------

A good Def and very attacking up front.

Becham - you have most of it right but, some of those names will not be there ...here is what i think it will look like, well im thinking Smuda will go a bit more defensive

---------------------------------Szczesny----------------------------

--Wasilewski------Glowacki------Perques-----Wawyrzniak-------

------------------Dudka-----------Matuszczyk----------------------

--Kuba-----------------Mierziejewski--------------Obran----------

------------------Lewandowski (if fit) ------------------------------

Peszko is injured so I doubt they will mess with his knee, and the Lewan and Brozek tandem would be perfect except you need to flip it and have Brozek up front and Lewan distrubting but that is too complext for Smuda to figure out.....

Is there any chance Polanski will play or is he still injured?

He's injured I think.

Dudka played well last match, as well as for Auxerre these past few weeks, so I would like to give him another shot anyway. We already know how good Polanski is.

The side he posted is the typical side.
What im curious about is the subs. Since Germany is so strong, will Smuda want to hold off with the subs?

no way dude. even if i was unbiased/neutral 1-6 would be a very harsh scoreline. Poland at home wouldnt get raped like that by anyone. ill go for 1-3

well we just deducted 2 goals from the pitch and possibly added 1 for ourselves.

my prediction in andys table is 3-2 poland, and it looks more viable now.

wait why arent they playing though

I hate to break up the dreams of poland winning but im a realist and it will be at least 2-0 for germany. If we couldnt beat them with deyna n lato we sure as hell wont now! Sorry but u guys keep forgetting how much we suck.

Most of your predictions are dumb. Germany won't score as many goals on us as they did vs Austria. The only question is how many goals will we score. Lewy is a shitty striker. What I want in a proper striker in a formation that only allows one striker is that he Is only good and focused on scoring goals, like brozek Or jelen. Lewy does not fit this role. He's actually kinda crappy at this role. Before it was ok because he was still developing. Right now he is still developing but not in this role, more of a support role which means that the weight Of scoring goals will be shifted to the three attracking midfielders. This really fucks with the theory of the strength of 4-2-3-1. You can see it on Dortmund when lewy is in the front. Poland is pretty much a mirror of this team. So what, start brozek/jelen in the front and put lewy in the mid. Not Over or main 3 that's for sure. lewy doesn't fit our style and I believe starting him dilutes our teams efficiency. Ideally I would want to see jelen but he's both injury prone and a bitch(missing nt games for league games). I don't know what to think about brozek since going to turkey. If he's not a starter, there isn't much to think about.

ideally we need a striker that's a pure finisher/classic 'fox in the box'. someone who's timing and positioning is spot on, and has a vicious shot. as for lewy, he operates best in the second striker/support role (ala what he does at BvB, aka where adrian is situated currently). His strengths are his size, and his first touch/first time play. he can control areal balls nicely, and ship them around to our mids. his disadvantage is wasteful finishing, and wooden legs (when it comes to attacking a defender/dribbling). That's about the only place that adrian has the advantages; dribbling, crossing, and he's a bit pacier because of his size. i think, depending on opposition, one or the other should start. if we anticipate a game where we'll have to pump high long balls, get lewy on the field to do what he does best, in behind the out and out striker. if its weaker opposition, leave adrian there, and have lewy come out as a sub. I'm calling Germany beat us by two goals, so either 2-0, or 3-1, something like that. if our boys are spirited and take the fight to them hard, maybe we'll get a draw.

so our best bet right now is Brozek? We have anyone coming in the ranks that can be defined as a 'finish first' striker?

... and you guys might have or might not have noticed but karmakop posted that Ozil, Schweinsteiger and Neuer will not play for Germany vs. Poland.... I know they'll still have Mueller, Goetze, Podolski, Klose and alot more but still less of a threat.....

still holding onto Poland 3 - Germany 2.

Poland has never beat Germany and they won't do so now, don't kid yourself.

I agree with Nitram's previous post. Rew is not fit in the role upfront.

Maybe Lewandowski in a few years will be a great poacher, but he isn't one now, and won't be come Euro 2012.

Jelen is aging and Brozek, fuck knows what's going on with him in Turkey. It looks like we have to be hopeful Kucharczyk, Jonczyk or Teodorczyk develop into good strikers. I also heard good things from Parzyszek, a young Pole playing in Netherlands.

But that's future talk. Against Germany, we should play Brozek. Knowing Smuda though, Lewandowski will probably play upfront anyway.
