Re: Polish STADIUM construction (Updates/Projects/Photos)

The stadium is larger than the clubs current needs but you don't build a stadium for the next 5 years, more like 50 years. It will not take much for a club like Widzew to be back in the top flight. I've been to games there when it was at capacity and there were still people standing out the front of...

Re: Polish STADIUM construction (Updates/Projects/Photos)

Looks like the builder of the new Widzew stadium has been selected. The agreement should be signed within 2-3 weeks and then we will see what kind of project they come up with.

Re: Polish STADIUM construction (Updates/Projects/Photos)

Will the new stadium be shared between LKS and Widzew? It doesnt make sense to me if not because LKS is non existent and Widzew is broke. There is no stadium being built at LKS, just one main stand that their youth academy will use. The municipal stadium will be built at Widzew and will most likely...

Re: Ekstraklasa 2013/2014 & I - II - III Liga

Yea pretty much. The owner has already invested around 60 milion zl and despite that the club is currently some 20 million zl in debt. This was mainly due to poor management of finances and overspending on average players that simply did not provide a return in the form of European qualification. Ea...

Re: Ekstraklasa 2013/2014 & I - II - III Liga

Yea the guys name is Grzegorz Waranecki and he is some local businessman and a life long fan. He practically owns the rights to Visnakovs and if any club wants to buy him they have to speak to him, not Widzew. But he already said that if he makes any money from a transfer he will pour all profits in...

Re: Ekstraklasa 2013/2014 & I - II - III Liga

So I think it's already pretty safe to say that Podbeskidzie and Widzew are getting relegated this year.. both teams are absolutely woeful, you couldn't pay me to sit through 90 mins of either team playing. It'll be sad to see a team like Widzew get relegated, but it doesn't seem to me like their b...

Re: Ekstraklasa 2012/2013

Odkrycie Sezonu: Bartlomiej Pawlowski - I don't really understand how players like Stepinski or Bereszynski who anyone who even slightly follows the Ekstraklasa knew about even last season can be nominated. In what way were they not discovered already? Everybody had expectations of them and it's no ...

Re: Ekstraklasa 2012/2013

Why are you guys so certain that it will be either Podbeskidzie or Belchatow going down? Take a look at Pogon, they've managed to accumulate only 5 points in the 11 games since the winter break. They are still playing Ruch and Podbeskidzie away which won't help their cause either. I had some time on...

Re: Polish STADIUM construction (Updates/Projects/Photos)

Breaking news from Lodz. The City has approved construction of a new Municipal Stadium at Al. Pilsukdskiego where the current Widzew stadium is located. 170mln zl have been approved in the budget for this investment. The club will provide the project for this construction. The City will also fund th...

Legia are simply looking for an excuse to let Ljuboja go. Burak too probably.

Re: Ekstraklasa 2012/2013

Out of Polonia, Piast, Wisla and Gornik - Piast are definitely the best team and play by far the best brand of football. Why is Wisla even mentioned in the same sentence as European Competition?

Re: New Ekstraklasa System

More games = need for a larger squad = investment into better squad, therefore teams, or investment into youth for youth to fill the gaps. It also means more match-day ticket income for some teams, which is how unfortunately some teams maintain a positive balance sheet. This is a good change and pr...

Re: New Ekstraklasa System

37 games sounds good per team  Teams that are better trained, organized and managed will succeed. Wonder if the mentality will change regarding teams selling their best players quickly to the west for quick profit :?: Make no mistake about it. If a solid enough foreign club comes knocking,...

Re: New Ekstraklasa System

My initial reaction was that I didn't like the idea. But were just going to have to wait and see how this pans out. I'm sure that if things don't work out, they will quickly return to how it was originally. They already did it in 01/02 season. Yes but it was in two groups from the start of the seas...

Re: Ekstraklasa 2012/2013

^^Not true. From junior ranks over recent years came Pawel Brozek, Jakub Blaszczykowski, Patryk Malecki. Currently the juniors playing first team are Czekaj, Burliga, Chrapek, Sometimes Szewczyk and Urgya. The most recent junior to go abroad is Filip Kurto who is doing well in Holland. The current ...

Re: Ekstraklasa 2012/2013

MLS is a relatively young league. Its expanding by adding more Canadian teams. I dont see how its capped. If the money is really good the skilled players will come over. You are already seeing this with some players going to Russia to play for clubs in the Urals. As MLS continues to get more popula...

Re: Buy Out Clauses - Should EK teams implement this

Most young promising players sign contracts in Poland with hope that the club will prove to be a stepping stone towards Europe. If anything, it's more likely that the player would request a clause with a somewhat reasonable amount to ensure that the club doesn't try to block a potential transfer to ...

Re: Ekstraklasa 2012/2013

The league is getting weaker but with good reason. A lot of investment $$$ is being pulled out from clubs. The only club that does not have to worry financially in the near future is Legia. The marketing hype around this club was spot on and coupled with the newly erected stadium has caused born aga...
